Oil has transformed Kuwait into one of the world's most prosperous nations. It is a tiny desert country at the northern end of the Gulf. The country of Kuwait is named after its capital city Kuwait, which was founded in 18th century and is situated on the shores of natural harbor. Kuwaiti dinar is the monetary unit of this country. The Kuwaiti people have some of the world's highest salaries, pay no taxes to the Government, and receive free health care services and social services. The country's affluence is reflected in its glittering skyscrapers.
